The Laboratory by lorneniesart The Laboratory by lorneniesart
This took awhile. I did all the objects separately and copy-pasted them in.

Aly's laboratory is a very interesting place, and one of the most important settings in Sadness of her Might. That and it's fun to draw. There's lots of symbolic stuff slipped in the border but I'm betting there are two people who will understand it completely, so. (These things include the moons and the wolves--and those are so obvious I cannot believe I'm mentioning them--and then pomegranates, and the Danaides, and Sisyphus.)

Also, of course the needle is front and center.

I killed my hand and I don't care, because this is finally done.

Aly's lab is mine, I suppose.

(p.s. not really steampunk. gaslight/electric romance.)

This has got to be one of the best pieces of setting-artwork I've ever seen. It imitates reality in such a way that it's not mimicking a photograph, but something much much more. Beautiful!

Kat, I just... I just... aaaaaahhhhh this is too, too awesome.

heck yes pomegranates

I can't handle all the details, you're blowin' me away. rock awesome. man oh man. I keep trying to pick a favourite bit but I simply CANNOT. The key, however, is a strong contender. It's gorgeous.

Very intriging...brings me right back to the prose of the tale. Dang, miss. I'm just gapping at the details, of the light under the door, of the stains and stratches on the wall, of the decidely grim lighting, that sets the surreal tone off perfectly. Fantastic scene of digital art, miss.
